Product description:
Arranged in an 8x8 matrix, each pixel can be individually addressed. Only one microcontroller pin is required to control all the LEDs, and each LED benefits from a 24 or 32-bit color. When illuminated, they are incredibly bright. The connection is straightforward: there are 4 sets of 3-pin connection ports. Solder wires to the input port and provide 5VDC to the +5V and GND pins, then connect the DIN pin to the microcontroller. If you're using the NeoPixel library for Arduino, use digital pin #6. You'll also need to establish a common ground between the 5V power source and the microcontroller. Since each LED can consume up to 60mA (up to 3.5A per panel if all LEDs are set to bright white!), you'll require an adequate power supply. If you need MORE luminous effects, you can chain them together. For the second module, connect the DIN to the first panel's DOUT. Also, connect a GND pin and power it with 5V. You can chain as many as you want, although after 4 or more panels, there might be limited available RAM if you're using an UNO. Be mindful of power consumption; you might need a more powerful power supply. |
