PCB module for charging and managing Li-ion 3.7V-4.2V batteries, used in the assembly of power banks or other portable devices. It features a DC 5V/2A max output, reverse polarity protection, and intelligent charging management.
Lithium battery technology is DANGEROUS, and creating a battery pack requires extensive knowledge in the field.
An improperly assembled battery, both electrically and mechanically/thermally, may catch fire or even explode randomly.
Many shipping companies refuse to transport lithium batteries due to these hazards.
It is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to use cells with different internal resistances (unchecked, recycled, low-quality, different wear levels, etc.)! The capacity and internal resistance of the cells must be as close as possible!
Otherwise, the battery’s lifespan will be drastically reduced, or it may violently fail when activated.
The capacity/internal resistance of batteries should be measured using specialized battery testing equipment.
Ideally, cells should come from the same supplier, the same batch, and be tested to have similar internal resistance.
Using incompatible cells will lead to their failure, damage to the entire battery pack, and loss of warranty.
Due to differences in internal resistance, one cell will discharge faster than another, causing its voltage to drop below its minimum threshold, leading to irreversible damage.
A damaged cell will subsequently cause a chain reaction, destroying the remaining cells and the BMS module.
Cells must be connected using spot welding; soldering is NOT allowed.
The conductors used for battery connections must be sized to withstand the maximum current generated by all battery cells.
When assembling the battery, keep in mind that all cells are permanently under voltage. An accidental short circuit can result in electrocution, damage to cells and the BMS, with the aforementioned consequences.
The battery must be protected against impacts, punctures, and external electrical contacts.
It is recommended to fully insulate the battery and use a metal case to contain a potential fire.
Wires require crimped terminals/connectors using specialized tools or soldered connectors.
The module requires proper cooling based on the current intensity used. If cooling is insufficient, it may fail, leading to an automatic loss of warranty.
Cooling may require attaching a heatsink (not included) and ensuring proper airflow: the enclosure should be ventilated, or a fan should be used (not included).
The information provided above is basic and not comprehensive. It does not replace in-depth studies in the field.
The modules are intended exclusively for specialized and authorized companies, not for amateurs.
