Varianta scurta:

Aceasta sursa de alimentare a fost testata si asigura tensiunea optima pentru Raspberry Pi.

Varianta lunga:

Raspberry Pi trebuie sa primeasca la intrare o tensiune intre 4.75V and 5.25V. Sursele normale de tensiune pot avea variatii destul de mari din fabrica, intre 4.3 si 5.8V iar cablul de alimentare USB are la randul lui o rezistenta si deci o cadere de tensiune. Astfel, la Raspberry Pi poate ajunge o tensiune intre 4.1 si 5.6V.  Pentru marea majoritate a dispozitivelor, aceasta variatie de tensiune nu este o problema dar Raspberry Pi este mai special.

Practic, folosind alta sursa de alimentare, pot aparea probleme de under sau over-voltage.
