Product Description:

This sensor consists of an infrared emitter (LED) on one side and a detector (photo-transistor) on the other side. By emitting an IR light wave from one side to the other, the sensor can detect the passage of an object, as it interrupts the light wave. This type of sensor is used in a wide range of applications, including optical switches, object detection, and more.

Technical Specifications:

  • LED Forward Voltage (VF): 1.2V DC
  • Maximum LED Current: 20mA
  • Maximum Collector-Emitter Voltage (VCE): 5V DC
  • Maximum Collector Current: 20mA
  • Operating Temperature: -25℃ to + 85℃
  • Dimensions:

!!!WARNING!!! - LEDs must always be connected individually in series with a resistor to limit the current passing through them, otherwise, they will burn out very quickly.

The resistors connected in series with the LED and photo-transistor must be calculated based on the voltage drop and supply voltage so that the current does not exceed the maximum value.
