LCD 2004

Product Description:

The LCD 2004 module displays 4 lines of 20 characters each. It is ideal for electronic projects that need to display more information. It can also be easily used in low-light conditions as it has a backlight. The backlight should be protected by a resistor or a 2k potentiometer. To reduce the number of pins used to connect the LCD to the controller, an I2C module can be used.

EXAMPLE CONNECTION WITH ARDUINO IDE:

For this connection example, you will need the following:

1x UNO Development Board || Reference: TXVMOK_DB-UNO-R3
1x I2C Module for LCD 1602 2004 || Reference DWYBHV_IIC
Various wires needed for electrical connections

1. Connections:

First, we will ensure the connections between the devices as shown in the image below

2. Check the I2C address in Arduino IDE using the "i2c_scanner" code from the "Downloads" section.

3. Add the LCD library, which can also be found in the "Downloads" section, then open an example from that library, modify the address with the one found earlier, and upload the program.

It may be necessary to adjust the potentiometer on the I2C module for the LCD to display characters correctly.

Connections:

pin 1: Vss;
pin 2: Vdd;
pin 3: Vo - LCD contrast (between Vss and Vdd);
pin 4: RS;
pin 5: R/W;
pin 6: E - enable;
pins 7 - 14: DB0 - DB7;
pin 15: V+ backlight;
pin 16: V- backlight
