With this USB to serial converter, the connection of a development board, e.g. Arduino, to a PC becomes a children's game. The converter module is hardly larger than a standard USB stick and can therefore be used for space saving purposes. Right next to the USB connector, there's a pin strip with a total of 5 pins. This makes it possible to access a serial interface with TTL levels. The pencil bar is readily accessible and can e.g. can be wired quickly by a Dupont cable. The module also allows the power supply of the developer board with the choice of 3.3V or 5V. However, the output current at 3.3V is limited to a few mA. The converter module has an IC of the type Prolific PL2303HX. To protect the transducer module, the transducer module is enclosed by a transparent shrink tube.
